A theorem on parallel processing models with a generalized stopping rule
نویسنده
چکیده
Inequalities on reaction time distribution functions for parallel processing models with an unlimited capacity assumption are presented, extending previous work on first-terminating and exhaustive stopping rules to kth-terminating processes. This extension thus generates predictions for situations in which the observer’s response is determined by the kth-terminating subprocess. Moreover, methods to determine the number k are discussed. 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

SOME FUNDAMENTAL RESULTS ON FUZZY CALCULUS
In this paper, we study fuzzy calculus in two main branches differential and integral. Some rules for finding limit and $gH$-derivative of $gH$-difference, constant multiple of two fuzzy-valued functions are obtained and we also present fuzzy chain rule for calculating $gH$-derivative of a composite function. Two techniques namely, Leibniz's rule and integration by parts are introduced for ...
متن کاملSurvivor interaction contrast wiggle predictions of parallel and serial models for an arbitrary number of processes
The Survivor Interaction Contrast (SIC) is a distribution-freemeasure for assessing the fundamental properties of human information processing such as architecture (i.e., serial or parallel) and stopping rule (i.e., minimum time or maximum time). Despite its demonstrated utility, there are some vital gaps in our knowledge: first, the shape of the serial maximum time SIC is theoretically unclear...
متن کاملAn Lp-Lq-version Of Morgan's Theorem For The Generalized Fourier Transform Associated with a Dunkl Type Operator
The aim of this paper is to prove new quantitative uncertainty principle for the generalized Fourier transform connected with a Dunkl type operator on the real line. More precisely we prove An Lp-Lq-version of Morgan's theorem.
متن کاملAn extension of workload capacity space for systems with more than two channels
We provide the n-channel extension of the unified workload capacity space bounds for standard parallel processing models with minimum-time, maximum-time, and single-target self-terminating stopping rules. This extension enables powerful generalizations of this approach to multiple stopping rules and any number of channels of interest. Mapping the bounds onto the unified capacity space enables a...
متن کاملModelling of Crack Growth Using a New Fracture Criteria Based Peridynamics
Peridynamics (PD) is a nonlocal continuum theory based on integro-differential equations without spatial derivatives. The elongation fracture criterion is implicitly incorporated in the PD theory, and fracture is a natural outcome of the simulation. On the other hand, a new fracture criterion based on the crack opening displacement combined with peridynamic (PD-COD) is proposed. When the relati...
